Welcome to The United Group of Conformity Assessment Bodies (UGCAB)

The United Group of Conformity Assessment Bodies (UGCAB)is a professional organization that unites testing and calibration laboratories, inspection bodies, and certification entities. UGCAB’s mission is to enhance competence, promote international cooperation, and support the recognition of accredited results that strengthen confidence in conformity assessment across industries and markets.

Committees

UGCAB Technical Committee (TC)

The Technical Committee (TC) provides a platform for dialogue, coordination, and collaboration on all issues relevant to conformity assessment bodies. It serves as a forum where members exchange knowledge, share experiences, and develop recommendations to promote technical excellence and harmonization among UGCAB members.

UGCAB Communication and Marketing Committee (CMC)

The UGCAB Communication and Marketing Committee (CMC) aims to enhance UGCAB’s visibility, reputation, and all members engagement. Its primary objective is to strengthen UGCAB’s outreach by supporting promotional activities and ensuring clear, consistent, and effective internal and external communication.

UGCAB Capacity Building Committee (CB)

The UGCAB Capacity Building Committee (CB) is responsible for identifying, developing, and implementing programs that enhance the competence and performance of UGCAB members and stakeholders. The Committee focuses on strengthening technical knowledge, skills, and resources through training, workshops, mentoring, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

Arab Accreditation Cooperation (ARAC) and International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC)

The United Group of Conformity Assessment Bodies (UGCAB) is pleased to announce its official recognition as a stakeholder in the Arab Accreditation Cooperation (ARAC) and the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) network. This important milestone demonstrates UGCAB’s growing regional and international presence and its commitment to strengthening the culture of quality, competence, and trust in conformity assessment.

The Arab Accreditation Cooperation (ARAC) is a regional cooperation body recognized by the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC). ILAC & ARAC work to harmonize accreditation practices, enhance mutual recognition among accreditation bodies, and foster cooperation across the Arab region and beyond.

As a stakeholder, UGCAB will have the opportunity to:
  • Participate in ILAC & ARAC’s stakeholder meetings, discussions, and capacity-building initiatives.
  • Collaborate with regional international experts and accreditation bodies to promote best practices in conformity assessment.
  • Contribute to the development of regional standards, policies, and technical guidance.
  • Strengthen cooperation and knowledge exchange between conformity assessment bodies in the region and internationally.

African Accreditation Cooperation (AFRAC)

The United Group of Conformity Assessment Bodies (UGCAB) has officially become a Stakeholder of the African Accreditation Cooperation (AFRAC), strengthening its commitment to regional cooperation and the development of Africa’s quality infrastructure.

This achievement demonstrates UGCAB’s dedication to supporting harmonized accreditation systems across the African continent and promoting mutual trust and recognition of conformity assessment results. As an AFRAC stakeholder, UGCAB will engage with regional accreditation bodies and stakeholders to contribute to capacity building, technical collaboration, and the enhancement of accreditation practices in Africa.

UGCAB’s involvement in AFRAC aligns with its broader objectives of improving confidence in conformity assessment services, supporting sustainable development, and facilitating regional and international trade. The organization expressed its intention to actively participate in AFRAC initiatives and technical activities that strengthen accreditation competence and credibility across Africa.

UGCAB reaffirmed that stakeholder membership in AFRAC represents a key step toward deeper regional integration and stronger cooperation within the African accreditation community.

Global Accreditation Cooperation

The United Group of Conformity Assessment Bodies (UGCAB) has officially joined the Global Accreditation Cooperation Incorporated as a Stakeholder, marking a significant milestone in its international engagement in accreditation and conformity assessment.

This strategic move reflects UGCAB’s commitment to aligning with globally recognized accreditation frameworks and actively participating in the development and harmonization of international conformity assessment practices. Through its stakeholder membership, UGCAB gains access to global expertise, technical knowledge, and collaborative platforms that support competence, impartiality, and confidence in accreditation activities worldwide.
