The United Group of Conformity Assessment Bodies (UGCAB) proudly participated in the Global Accreditation Cooperation Incorporated General Assembly held in Bangkok, Thailand on 16–24 October 2025.
This key international summit was part of the 2025 Joint Annual Meetings of the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) and the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC), bringing together leading accreditation organizations, conformity assessment bodies, and quality infrastructure stakeholders from around the world.
The meeting marked a historic milestone in the global accreditation landscape, as members of Global Accreditation Cooperation Incorporated created through the merger of IAF and ILAC advanced the integration of international accreditation frameworks and prepared for the official start of full operations on the first of January 2026.
UGCAB was represented at this important gathering by Mr. Amjed Ahmed and Ms. Marwa T. Faisal, who actively contributed to strategic discussions focused on harmonizing global accreditation practices, strengthening mutual recognition arrangements, and enhancing cooperation among accreditation bodies worldwide.
The assembly also approved key operational documents and welcomed new members, supporting the establishment of Global Accreditation Cooperation Incorporated as a unified global voice for trust, quality, and competence in accreditation.
The Thailand meeting provided an excellent platform for exchanging expertise, exploring future trends-including sustainability and emerging technology and reinforcing shared goals for advancing conformity assessment excellence and supporting international trade.
UGCAB expressed its appreciation to the organizers for hosting such a valuable meeting and reaffirmed its commitment to actively contributing to global accreditation initiatives as Global Accreditation Cooperation Incorporated transitions toward full implementation in early 2026.
