Becoming Member

Membership Categories

The Association shall have the following categories of membership:

Full Members:
  • Accredited Conformity Assessment Bodies (CABs) actively engaged in testing, inspection, or certification services and other conformity assessment activities.
Associate Members:
  • Organizations involved in quality assurance, standardization, or related activities, including regulators, accreditation bodies, and academic institutions.
Honorary Members:
  • Organizations or individuals recognized for their outstanding contributions to the field of conformity assessment and quality infrastructure.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants must comply with applicable ISO/IEC standards (such as ISO/IEC 17025, 17020, 17065, or 17043) and demonstrate a commitment to quality, impartiality, and competence.
  • All membership applications shall be reviewed and approved by the Executive Committee.
  • Members must agree to abide by the UGCAB Compliance Code and uphold the principles of integrity, transparency, and professionalism.

Membership Rights and Obligations

  • Full Members have the right to vote, hold leadership positions, and participate fully in the Association’s decision-making processes.
  • Associate Members and Honorary Members may participate in UGCAB activities and committees but do not hold voting rights.
  • All members are required to comply with the Association’s Constitution, policies, the UGCAB Compliance Code, and all applicable ethical and professional guidelines. Members must also actively contribute to achieving UGCAB’s mission, objectives, and commitment to integrity, competence, and impartiality.

Termination of Membership

Membership may be terminated under any of the following conditions:

  • Resignation – upon written notice submitted to the Executive Committee.
  • Non-Payment – failure to pay membership fees for two consecutive years.
  • Breach of Conduct – violation of ethical, professional, or compliance standards, subject to disciplinary review and Executive Committee approval.
